Some guys probably wish they had your problem. Some women talk so much, you have to stuff a rag in their mouth to shut them up, and they still don't stop. And then there are others like your girlfriend, who is too quiet. Maybe she is just shy and can't think of anything to say. I understand that it's difficult to have a conversation when you have to do all the talking, but if you really like her otherwise, give her a chance to know you better. You've only been dating a short time. Eventually, she may loosen up a bit and talk more, once she sees what a nice guy you are. Just be patient. Ask her questions, ask her opinion on world events, ask her advice about things. Once you get her going on a subject, she just might surprise you and turn into one of those non-stop talkers.

If you're her first boyfriend, she's gonna be nervous all the time. Yes, like you said, talking to her is a definite possibility, but there are other options. If you just sit there and wait, she might say something. Or you can also go different places and try to help her to have fun. If he feels comfortable, she'll start talkin'. With all the bad stories of dating relationships, she's just nervous because she doesn't feel at ease with you yet.

Good luck!

Sounds as if she is socially incompatible with you. If she is shy and you aren't, if you really like her you will have to find other ways to bring her "out". If she doesn't respond to you in other ways, then maybe she is just too shy and you two are not socially compatible which is the mistake a lot of people make. A good way to tell: if she doesn't eat food in front of you, then she is REALLY shy.

It sounds like she's just a bit nervous and may not want to screw anything up, especially if your her first. I know it may get a bit annoying, but if you stick in there she'll warm up.

Till next time,

Tell her how you feel. Don't just break it off when she probably has no idea what she's done. Also ask her if something is wrong. Maybe she's stuck with some really heavy issues you can help with.

Start asking questions and advice and see if there is a brain in that head.
