It depends on which part of the body that u want muscle. Running creates lots of muscle in the legs and thighs.
If u only want muscle in the chest area, then weight train, but most people want muscle gain all-over. Just like to add, running definitely increases appettites, so if u are under weight both would help tremendously!

You will either lose weight, gain it, or stay where you are. The formula is this. If you eat more calories than you burn, you will gain weight. If you eat less than you burn, you will lose weight.

I am guessing that you want to lose weight but gain some muscle mass. If that is so just:

eat healthy.
eat less calories than you burn
eat plenty of protein
lift some weights
do aerobic work 3-5 times a week.

This plan should help you build muscle, burn fat, and lose weight. If you don't lose weight, don't be concerned as long as you are looking and feeling better.

yes u can gain muscles n lose weight at the same time..its not exactly tat u shouldnt run when u wanna gain muscles.u can run,but not as much as before, mayb lets say...10 mins run per day.or if u wanna count it by week.it should b like 2-8miles per week.running n swimming does help u to lose weight effectively n sculpt ur body.it also help to keep ur cardiovascular system in good condition..lifting weight will help ur muscles b stronger n leaner.so have a mix of both world.if u dunt wanna run a lot.take up some other sports to replace ur running like soccer, tennis, baseball, basketball or aerobic class(if u dunt mind being a lil bit sissy) .these activities help with ur cardiovascular system.ur diet is also important if u wanna lose weight, avoid oily food.n also ur lifestyle, alter them a lil bit, sleep early, rest well n drink lots of water.always fill up.cuz when ur muscles have a good rest n recover,u can hit the gym more often n perform better with heavier weights.u can also try on some sports enhancement drugs like creatine, glutamine or L-carnitine for faster results n extra boost in ur energy.but remember not to depend much on them n always consult ur doctor first.good luck dude!!!

There is nothing inherently bad about combining the two forms of exercise, but you would bulk up quicker if you stopped running. And the increased muscle mass will offset any weight-loss, so you may gain weight for a time, even though you are losing fat.

Basically, either one would be more efective on it's own. but they won't hurt you if done together. As long as you don't over-exert yourself.

not true at all. Running will not necessarily build muscles(other than legs and lungs).
Working out will help you lose weight and gain muscle. But you need resistance training.

actual, to earnings muscle you are able to desire to lift weights. supplementations quite purely develop your potential to enhance weights. consume LEAN meats... eggs, and raise weight..my coach instructed me to do small reps of intense weight.. ie 5 reps of 50lbs extremely of 10 reps of 30lbs.. after doing the small reps DROP the load to a decrease weight and do extra reps.. SOOO do this: 15 reps of the max you ca bench or 10lbs under... 30 reps of three/4 the max you are able to bench.. 15 reps 5 lbs extra then the 1st time you benched... 30 reps 10lbs extra then a million/2.. by doing this atypical set, you trick your physique into development extra muscle simply by fact the you bench the heavier stuff then the lighter which makes the load sense lighter.. as you develop your max, the a million/2 will develop, which then develop the quantity you are able to bench press. be careful inspite of the incontrovertible fact that, simply by fact the no discomfort no earnings line is BULL. If it hurts provide up. you are able to desire to sense a burn like feeling on your muscle groups the burn that publicizes your increasing your power.. yet once you get discomfort, discomfort that publicizes it hurts to enhance this. provide up you will purely injure your self.. and b/c you play activities you are able to desire to be attentive to this, the discomfort will come on the day after and then be even worse the 2d day.. desire this helps.. (granted i'm a woman and you'd be able to could desire to swap how this could artwork for you) sturdy success.. heavily no drugs b/c they provide the visual charm of power yet they ummm *cut back* each and every thing else... and a pair of the minute you provide up taking them, you will lose your muscular tissues..

To accomplish what goal?

Cardiovascular fitness is more important than bulk. At any rate, what you heard is not true.
