Lack of knowledge. Abundance of ego/pride/self-righteousness.

Because they couldn't possibly see or know what we have. They attack what they don't know and don't understand. We know and we understand, that is all that matters.

I don't berate anyone...In fact, around here, I am much more likely to be berated. I have no problem with people practicing religion, only that they try to force me to follow it. I saw a quote on here the other day that I like:
"I am treated as evil by people who claim that they are being oppressed because they are not allowed to force me to practice what they do." D. Dale Gulledge.
I also don't think I (or most other people who don't believe in a deity) are particularly unintelligent. We base our beliefs on science, empirical evidence and rational thought. I think we have to be of at least average intelligence to be able to follow the theories that make up the basis for our beliefs.
As for a guilty conscience...what do I have to be guilty of? I don't believe in the Bible, so breaking it's rules means relatively little to me. And in truth, I generally live a pretty good life. I make every effort to do what is right. And more importantly, I don't do it because I'm afraid of myself or someone I love being punished (in this life or the next) if I don't. I do what's right simply because it's right. Now that I think about it, that kind of gives me the moral high ground. No one has to threaten me to get me to do what's right.

Guilty conscience all the way. It is their pride and self-righteousness acting out in a way to silence their conscience and justify their sin. When we speak to them using the Law, and talk directly to their conscience, and show them just how sinful they really are, they will either get mad or get converted.

I feel there are several reasons there are people like that. Fear, lack of understanding, confusion, never reading the bible, never asking questions about the bible, never attending church, lack of interest, selfishness, laziness, low self-esteem, pier pressure, greed, self-destructive. I could keep going, but I think you all get the picture. It's not a very nice one is it?

Because they have not seen much of selfless love from people with faith. It is really hard to love and respect people whose words differ from their deeds.
Let us patiently convince them with broader tolereance, sharper intelligence and cleaner conscience.

shomechely,
They have no life, literally and figuratively.

I am not a Buddhist. And I have no interest in becoming one. AND SO I don't spent ANY time on the subject. Because I am not interested. It's okay for them, and boring to me.

I think that's how smart people are.

And then you have these self-proclaimed Atheists, and whatever else, and spending time on something they hate. And there's the answer, they hate us. A lot! And they are in denial about it.

Talk about Satanic puppets!

Well, I just read an article that stated that over 90% of the world's population believe in God. And those that don't have to show why people shouldn't believe in god in order to exist legitimately as a nonbeliever. I don't know how true it is, but your question reminded me of it.

You act as if we lack something. Au Contraire!!! We have free thought, and you are constrained by a myth. Had you free thought you would be able to reply with more than whines.

And why do people of faith constantly berate the people with "no faith"? The door swings both ways...
