There is an ulterior motive to the question. I believe in, have seen the evidence of, the power of genuine prayer. Those of you who do, in fact, pray when you say you will; please, please pray for me. God will know what the struggle is. For those of you who do not pray for others when you say you will, is it that you intend to and don't or that "I'll pray for you," is sort of like the well meaning but empty, "How are you?" I really want to know, so please, no Mahamad or Usama, (or the American Osama), or athiest, or unbelieving crap that mocks the question... PLEASE

Yes I really do pray for people when I say I will. I agree there have been times I forgot the person's name but like those posters before me I add a cover all line by asking for those who need it to be blessed and those who I don't even know where ever in the world they maybe that are asking him for help that day to add my prayer to theirs and bless them because whenever two or more come before God he hears them in an instant.

On that note,

Dear Lord I ask that you look down on your believer right now and help her with her need that is causing her pain.
Bless her Lord with your comfort and answers and send healing angels to her side. Thank you for your love and mercy.
In Jesus name Amen.

I admit that there are days that I forget everyone and everything I had planned on praying for. To sort of "cover" myself, during my night time prayers I say "and Lord please hear everyone's intentions mentioned today and don't let me forget anyone that I have met. Let Your will be done for all."

I belong to a prayer chain from my church and I write everyone's names and intentions down and at the end of the day I say the rosary for all of them. There are times that I have forgotten, I'm sure. If I don't write things down they easily disappear from my mind. I don't want to not pray for a stranger just because it slipped my short term memory. I ask God to hear all prayers said today and that I lift up the prayer intentions that had been asked.

Absolutely. I pray for all those who have a need. No matter where we are in this world, because God created us, we are all brothers and sisters.

No matter what the need may be, you may be assured that I will pray for you.

Absolutely. I usually do it immediately because He is always there to listen. I must admit I have said I would, and forgot, and feel bad about that. That's another reason I choose to do it immediately.
