she is living in Oregon with her two children
on state assistance. She's currrently in college, has a 4.0
grade average and is also on the presidents list, but she can't
afford to stay in school without assistance. I tried a complicated
website for grants, but could'nt find anything. ANY IDEAS?

Fill out the FAFSA (federal aid form, allows you to apply for loans and Pell Grants, and most colleges use it to determine if you qualify for need-based scholarships or grants).

Also, ask the financial aid offices of local colleges/Universities for their list of scholarships/grants particular to their individual school. Many schools have special awards available for returning women students or mothers.

Try going to the collage you attend, and asking for help on filling out forms for pale grants, and other grants that can help you, they are free, and you dont have to pay them back.Since your on assistances ask Department Of Social Servers for day care volters so you can work youre way off of the assisants. They would even help you buy a car,as long as you show them you were trying too make a better life for you and youre childern.

Oh, you better apply to become a Library Student Assistant. That's what I did during my student days. Good luck and hope you can adjust to your situation.

Tell her to go to www.FAFSA.gov and fill out the free application for Federal Student aid. That is how I went to college for three years and can still go. What she does is send in a SAR (student aid report) after she signs it. They will tell her on the computer what her estimated contribution would be.
