Yep some people have a fear of sleeping because they are afraid that they won't ever wake up again. If it is really bad why don't you try seeing a Psychiatrist and explain it to him. I am sure that there are some meds out there that can help you.

Yes there is a fear of everything and anything that you can think of and a lot you have never thought of.

I recall a time when I would almost fall asleep and then bolt upright just before droping off - very anoying and I can remember trying to wake up and stuggleing to do it - also scary and annoying

Sounds more like a fear of death to me. I suppose so.

ya i had it i stayed awake for 3 days
its not safe cause you can lose your mind
i was really scard that they where going to come and get me so iwould not fall asleep they came on got me and put me to sleep actually coma that what i was scard of

yes i used to have it...i have anxiety but i'm medication now for my depression/anxiety and now i sleep without any worries
