I will soon be remodeling my kitchen and have space for one cups and glasses cabinet. It will be 42" high, but for the width, I am not sure if I should put an 18" single door or an 24" double door. This kitchen serves a 3 bedroom house, and this will be the only space for glasses and cups.
Thanks

I would definitely go with more room the better! You have more types of glassware then you think! Plastic for the kids, wine, shot glasses, goblets, various coffee cups, and all the other stuff that goes with cups and glasses...I would go with a double door and make one or both with french paned glass doors to see your lovely array of glasses! Have fun decorating! :-)

Go for the 18" ones since they will not swing as far into the room as a 24" one. The 18 is also better if you are using non-face frame doors which have no middle partition between the pair. A middle partition would take up some valuable space just where you need to reach to get glasses out.

I was faced with the same dilemma and the contractor talked me into the 24. I'm so glad i listened to him. I had more stuff then I thought and the 24 serves my needs much better. This also give you room to add a few things. Perhaps some Christmas dishes. I feel you can always use the extra room. But if you don't have it and need it then what. Good Luck with the remodel.

Go with the double--nothing is more aggravating than not having enough kitchen cabinet space. In this case--more is better.

I kinda think to 24" might look a little nicer if thats what you have in the rest of your kitchen

After looking at my foot long ruler, I believe it would be more convenient to use an 18" door, because, when you have your hands full you only have one door to open and you have access to everything with in view.

if that's all that u will have then u should go as big as u can. remember: it's kitchens and baths that sell a house. make the kitchen as convenient as u can.
