Air Force. Better technical schools and their officers are sent out to fight. Which means they treat enlisted soldiers better. Plus you get to stay "in the rear with the gear". But mostly the Air Force has better training and that will help you more after you get out of the service.

Well I guess I picked the Air Force since I am in the Air Force now. I just wanted to comment because I saw someone said something about you only have to go to war if you are a pilot. That is soooo not true. The Air Force has most of the planes in the military, so that's how the cargo gets to war. And if the cargo and the planes are going the people who have something to do with the cargo and the planes have to go to. Also the medical people. And the chaplans. Mechanics, security forces, you know everybody.
Anyhow, it just depends on what you want to do in the military.

Air Force, again, no hesitation. The AF is different now than it was in my day. Airmen are no longer "in the rear with the gear" as someone put it: There are Airmen driving in truck convoys in Iraq right now -- very dangerous duty. I spent 1 day out of the 6 weeks of basic training "in the field", when we ran the obstacle course & fired the M-16. Now recruits are spending over a week in field conditions, since the majority of the AF is now subject to deployment anywhere in the world, including hot spots like Iraq & Afghanistan......
Bottom line is that you should talk to recruiters from all the services & see which one best suits your taste. Pay & benefits are the same, so that's not a factor. Good luck!
(And I'm with Fr. Chuck: If I HAD to go, things have really gone south in a handbasket!)

If I had it to do over again, I'd join the Air Force -- again. I wanted to fly, and those four years were among the best of my life. The AF has great chow halls, too. I'm proud to have served. And I agree with David J. The Blue
Angels are Navy; the Air Force has the Thunderbirds.

If you want to be in control of who gets killed choose the Air Force. If you want to the one getting killed choose the Army. If you still want to be alive after the war is over and the world has been destroyed be a Marine. If you really don't care about anything be in the Navy.

Air Force. I'm former Air Force so I speak from experience. As a communication/navigation tech I received the best training, experience, and opportunity to serve my country. I also established some friendships that I still maintain today and consider priceless. To this day I get misty eyed when I see a military aircraft in flight and my chest swells with pride.

US NAVY. In my opinion they are the best branch and the ones that do a lot of work. The navy takes care of land, air, sea, and underwater. They go months at times not being able to talk to their family (yes the other branches do too, but they can talk to them when they get to a phone). If you are on a Boomer, the family doesn't know where you are- they can send telegrams, but you can't reply. it's more dangerous on a sub- there's only so many to handle an emergency. and they are the only branch that is still on active duty during peace. they have my utmost respect- i actually almost joined. o another thing about sub work- they get the best food in the navy and military because the captain eats it too.

I was going to join the Marines because I believe it is the best branch overall, but now I am going to join the Navy so I can be a SEAL.

If you "have" to join, then probably somebody made that decision for you. Like for example, you got drafted.
I already served in the US Army, 1992 to 1997.
If I had to do it again, I would go Navy or Air Force. I would rather do my fighting with my brain than with blood, sweat and tears.

I was in the Army for four years then jumped over to the Coast Guard. I think the idea of protecting America's coast line and saving lives is worth it. Plus while your standing duty you can answer questions on Yahoo.
