Would the police station accept edible things from someone who brought them just to be nice and express appreciation?

Their legal department (I hope) would advise them not to simply because there are way too many freaks out there who hate cops. Or someone on parole might want revenge.

I don't see why something prepackaged wouldn't be acceptable. Or from a local bakery, delivered.

I am in Houston so a small town might be a whole 'nother story.

Very nice thought though!

While the cookies would be appreciated and they would appreciate that someone is trying to be nice, most likely they would not eat them for lots of reasons including the possiblity they have poision in them.

But something else to think about as a thank you would be to get pens with the words "thank you" on them. The pens would last longer and be useful to them.

Before you do anything like that though call to check if it would be ok.

Thank you for thinking nice thoughts about the folks in uniform.

Also if fire fighters are working a fire in your neighborhood and are there a while. A pitcher of ice water would be appreciated if the unit commander says ok. Fire fighting is hot work no pun intended. Maybe sealed bottle water if you have it would be better

No they wouldn't - a lot of people don't like the cops, they dont know who you are and and they worry about poisoning. If you are trying to show appreciation for the way you were treated by some officers a letter the the chief wil lbe a feather in their hats at promotion time and would be much appreciated. If you are trying to show appreciation in general the PB&PA unit or local police organization will have a charitable event or fund and they will appreciate donations to it. If you're "financially challenged" a "letter to the editor'" of the local paper would be VERY much appreciated. And wave at cops when they drive by - it's nice to know at least some folks ar on our side - it gets lonely sometimes

A small town department wouldn't mind so much. Some personnel wouldn't eat them simply because they don't know who made them. Larger departments would, more than likely, have them in the trash bin before you get back to your car.

The suggestion of having a bakery or deli deliver something, or even prepackaged pastries is a good idea.

Consider this. . .buy a pack of 20oz bottled water or even gatorade to take to the department. Cops get thirsty and hot working various scenes and would enjoy not having to buy bottled water for that days patrol.

I have law people in my family. They would politely accept your gift but when you are gone... they would sadly have to throw them away because they don't know you and would wonder if you poisoned them.

Your best course of action would be to ask them what the procedure would be to give them a edible gift. I would call someone on the phone so that when it happens it wont necessarily spoil the surprise.

Yes,but 1st they'd want to photograph and fingerprint you. Then they'd test the cookies, maybe making you eat some in their presence to see if you survived. Just kidding, yea, take em some cookies.

No, I doubt seriously they would. Someone could poison them.

You could call the police station to check though. Better yet, ask a local cop if it would be okay.

Unless someone there knew you presonally and quite well.......they'd be foolish to accept them......although they'd thank you and would probably be truly greatful.

They just can't take the risk of the cookies being poisoned.

Yes - appreciation and gratitude is something that is rarely found in that line of work. Food is always good!
