for the house? like carpet? buy Borax. They sell powdered Borax at Walmart in the laundry section, also in the bug repellant/spray section. It'll get rid of fleas easily. Go to Care2.com for more natural and pet-friendly cleaning remedies.

Not that I know of..they're pretty resilient little critters. You can take your time and pick them off your pet...but I'd go with a flea and tick dip and flea and tick collars.(They're the same thing...you don't have to buy one for fleas and one for ticks :P) Also, you can buy some pesticides to squirt in your house to kill fleas if they've taken up residence.

Pesticides are the most efficient way to go.

There is a powder at Home Depot and it says for lawns, but on the back it says you can use it on animals, and says it will kill fleas and ticks in minutes. I believe that cause it had a couple of dogs loaded with tick and after I put the powder on they were smooth as silk. And I saw a couple of them die in mid falldown air. Neat.

I have that same problem. Everyone but myself left the house for a couple of days and I sprayed the house with a whole can of bug spray. Lets just say that it works like a charm, but sleeping is something of a treasure during those 5 days of airing out the house.

I have found out through certain acquaintances that sodium chloride (table salt) works fairly well. Although I have never tried it, the people that have given me this information swear by it.
