in general. not like trained police dogs. i mean as pets.

yeah i have a german shepherd. she is the most gorgeous thing in the world. I just wanted to see how people viewed german shepherds. they are the nicest dogs and my FAVORITE dogs.

No, they're not. Most will bark if someone comes in the yard but they don't bite. It's all in how you raise them and what kind of personality they had to begin with.
I love my German Shepherd mix. She's small for a Shepherd and as sweet and loving a dog as you could ask for.

Of course! They are bred to shepherd sheep, and they will 'take charge' and gently shepherd your kids, other dogs, and even you if they think you need it!
They are sweet, loving dogs though, and great watchdogs if you need that (and even if you don't).
But find them some work to do. Get them plenty of running, playing and organizing exercise, and give them a family of little kids to watch over or at least a kitten or two; these are not lapdogs!

Nope. All dogs are trained to be what they are. Though some breeds are thought as being more aggressive than others. I think GSD is a terrific breed. Great with kids and adults alike.

Any dog can become aggressive, if they are raised improperly, or if they all of sudden develop a problem of that nature, can be to due to sometype of illness or a change in thier environment. I do not believe "certain breeds" are aggressive.

I have many clients with German Shepards and they are wonderful and loyal. I think it is how people raise them and socialize them that matters.
