I've seen Asian and Asian, Caucasian and Caucasian, Asian and African, African and Caucasian, Hispanic and Caucasian, Hispanic and Black, etc., etc. But why no Asian and Caucasian?
Especially in movies and television, Asian people are either extremely intelligent and single (like in Grey's Anatomy) or nerdy and dating other Asians (like that one Korean girl in Gilmore Girls). I'm not saying anybody is a cruel racist, I just think it's more of a subconscious thing. It's like when Caucasians see a hott Caucasian, they think, "Whoa, he/she's hott, I wish I could to date him/her." But when Caucasians see a hott Asian, they think, "Whoa, he/she's hott." And that's it. It's not exactly cruel or intentional racism, but it's like Caucasians don't even consider dating Asians merely because they're Asians.
So why is it? Why aren't their more Caucasians and Asian couples? Is it the media? Or something else?

Well, I'm just asking this question because I am Asian and have noticed some bizarre patterns in my dating life where I always want the Caucasian, but the Caucasian always wants the Caucasian girl.
And just so you know, I generally am not attracted to Asians because of numerous reasons, but one of them is that I am adopted and do not know if I have any siblings or who my cousins are, so when I see other Asians I just think, "Whoa, I could be related to this person in a way I don't want to know." That basically squashes any attraction that might've been there. lol.

My dear the answer to your question dates back further than I'd like to go. THroughout history in the United States Asian men and women have been the victims of controlling images in maintstream media. These stereotypes were directed at Asian sexual integrity. Women were treated as docile "lotus blossoms" stereotyped as "asian sex kittens" there only to satisfy men. They are even to this day objectified "me love you long time" so on and so forth. Worse still Asian men portrayed as effeminate, socially inept, asexual, small, weak etc. The sad part is the growing female asian population choosing upward mobility, marrying white men and looking to asian men as inferior.

I'm not sure of where you live, but I come from a major city and I see lots of Asian/Caucasian couples. I have a friend who is Chinese and says that in their culture, the only other race that is really accepted outside of Chinese is Caucasian. Her mother would have been furious to know that she was dating a Black male. Perhaps this is why on television shows, they don't show Asians in a mixed relationship because it would cause a lot of tension.
But as far as real life, when I have watched a "A Wedding Story" on TLC, there were a good number of Asian women with Caucasian men.

You shouldn't believe everything you see in the movies. Movies often stereotype people and exaggerate their characteristics.
I think that a lot of caucasian men like asian women. And you see mixed-race couples like that once in a while.
But asian men for one reason or another don't seem to have much success with caucasian women.
It's the men who usually have to take the initiative in approaching the woman and starting a relationship with her. And perhaps being brainy and extremely intelligent works against asian men. Brainy and intelligent people are usually introverts who are not very good at courting and making friends with women.

I dated an Asian exchange student in college and we did get stares but we mainly cliqued because we had some of the same interests like our classes, tae kwon do, and movies. He and my brother got along pretty well and we all used to hang out when my brother came home on leave from the Army. If he would not have went back to Seoul who knows what might have happened. I could be sporting some Asian-American children if he would have stayed.

I think that it is do to the fact of that's how society in general is geared for the time being. No offense to anyone reading this but women in our society are taught to be the victims. Its not my decision alone or even consciously, however a decision made by a society as a whole. If it where up to me I personally think that Asian women are among the most beautiful and intelligent women on the planet :]

in case you prefer to renowned the honest actuality, right here it is going: Asians have smaller privates than caucasians. For the caucasian male is a cushty greater healthful, for the caucasian women individuals, that is not sufficient beef. to boot you have the media effect on it too. Take magazines, and tv as an occasion...we are conditioned to think of that Caucasian adult males are warm! seem in any respect the main known shows on t.v: One tree hill, the O.C, plus all the magazine provides for Polo Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hillfiger...and so on...the male fashions are ninety 9.9% of the time caucasian. Now do you notice any Asian adult males on the spot gentle? Heck no! Now do you notice Asian fashions? confident, confident you do...they are on a number of of posters for after marketplace factors, euro-form rides, bike magazines...and maximum definetely you could constantly discover photographs of nude asians in magazines. So the media does do a brilliant activity of bringing those 2 at the same time. you have your familiar asian lady finding at those wonderful caucasian adult males, after which you have your caucasian adult males finding at those style of sensual photographs of asian women individuals. i'm hoping I helped shed some gentle into the subject count for you.

It depends on what city you live in. The larger cities have more intercultural relationships.
It would be helpful for you to know more about your medical background so you can be at peace as to whether or not you have siblings and put to rest the fear of marrying a blood relative. I wish you well. Your concern is valid.

From what I have seen and from friends that are asian. Although caucasian people are usually willing to date asians, most asian people for no particular reason prefer to date other asians, I have found this to be the case more often that not. Not because of any racial reasons, that is just what I think they were raised to do and what they are attracted to.
