I used to have a few classmates who just happened to have white hair--not all of it, but to where it was noticeable. I think it was just a genetic thing. I would suggest dying it, but since your hair breaks, it's probably not the best idea. As for your hair breaking, do you use a lot of hair products? I.e., heating it, gels, creams, etc? You might want to take a look at what you're putting in your hair. If you're not doing anything to your hair besides washing and conditioning it, I would go see a naturopath; they might have some herbal supplements for you.
If you hair takes a long time to grow, I guess that's just the way it is; I have a couple friends like that as well.

You have to trim your hair, I would say that is your biggest problem right there.
If you have not trimmed your hair for 4 yrs. I'm sure you have tons of split ends and very damaged hair. You need to go into the salon and have all your split ends cut off, probably atleast 4 in. Than you need to get it layered (because I'm sure it's not just the ends that are damaged)
You say your hair isn't growing fast. Well, it is but you are not gaining length because the ends keep breaking and you feel like it's not growing because you don't notice it getting longer. You have to get a trim atleast every 6-10 weeks, even if it is only 1/4 in. You are not helping your hair by not keeping it trimmed.
I see a bunch of ladies & girls come into my shop w/ totally damaged hair and only want 1/2 in cut, but really need 6 in. off, but because they are so bull-headed and think their hair isn't gonna look long they refuse and leave w/ the same crappy looking hair they came in w/.
Just because you eat alot of protiens don't think that's the answer, you have to take proper care of your hair which it is for fact that you don't.
I'm not trying to be cruel, but you need to get your hair trimmed and take better care of it.
Good Luck!!
Stylist of 9 yrs.

Okay first off, you have split ends because you did not cut your hair, and if you want it to grow faster you DO need to trim it. Everyone is different when it comes to turning "gray", my aunt turned totally gray at the age of 13. I would suggest if it bothers you that much, then get it colored, plus if you have it done professionally, the products they use to color your hair, have alot of conditioners and protein in them, to keep your hair nice. I would also recommend getting a deep condition done on your hair at least once a month, that will help with growing too. For vitamins that you would like to take to help your hair be strong and healthy, and to help promote growing you need biotin. But I would suggest for overall health to get a daily vitamin that contains that in it. Also, PLEASE do not buy products that are at Walmart and such for your hair. You don't want to make it worse, you want to make it better. I promise! Let me know what your hair type is exactly and I will be more than happy to let your know the products best for your hair. Hope this helps!

Well getting your ends clip does help your hair to grow. If you don't want a lot clip off tell you hair dresser and get a little clip every time you go. I recommend getting your ends clip every two weeks. Then start wrapping your hair up at night. This will prevent you ends from getting messed up. Don't use a lot of heat on your hair this also causes damage. And don't use a lot of chemicals on you hair either. I hope this has helped.

Start taking a hair/nail vitamen. They sell them at Walmart and Walgreens. They DO work. Take the suggested amount. Your nails will grow too.
Use a smoothing conditioner, itll help with the breakage and split ends, and itll lay nicer.

it sounds like there may be a problem with the thyroid. Go to the doctor and have your thyroid checked out. Pay special attention to the TSH level. It should be between .5 and 5. Brittle hair and premature graying is part of the symptons.

hey babe!
unfortunately some of us dont have naturally pantene proV commercial hair ( me included) i envy those skanks...lol jk! but um yeah my hair grows real slow too, u just have to be patient, and beglad that you arent going bald or anything....there are hair supplement vitamins( im not forsure if they work, ive never tried them, but they are all natural and ive heard good things about them) (8.00 at walmart stores).also i would suggest main and tail shampoo ( for horses...yes i said horses) it works....i have tried it...it makes your hair grow unvelievably fast! the only thing u can do for white hair is dye....and yes i know dyeing is rough on your hair and causes even more split ends, but maybe if u dye it on the concentrated area of white? && also if u bleach your hair regularly, thin your hair out or constantly use heat tools your hair will get split ends...no help for that....try an expensive conditioner, and lay off with the heat tools...ps- one weekend when your home alone....make a lil paste of mayonaise and put it in your hair for like and hour, letting it soak in (yes i know it sounds nasty) but it is a deep conditioner...if u have proablems getting the oil out afterwards put vinegar in your hair....the mayo leaves your hair shiny and helps repair some of the split ends! good luck girl...i hope this stuff helps...its what ive learned over years of frustration and agravation with similar hair lol! your arent alone!

make sure you're eating lots of fruits and veggies too, a good diet is the main thing. this stuff i use (i think its for black hair, but it works for me!) is called Doo Grow (can be found at walmart or ulta, places like that) and they have STIMULATING GROWTH OIL and THICKENING GROWTH SHAMPOO, both work VERY well with both split ends and growth! be sure you arent doing too much to your hair tho! p.s. my aunt (a hair stylist) says prenatal vitamins really work no better than normal ones. best of luck!

There are pills you can take to increase the growth of your hair. Pre-Natal pills are great for that too!!! If all else fails maybe you should ask a Doctor.
