Well I like to wiggle my buns at the office every day during my lunch time flirting and let me tell you what that spruces things up a bit.

Just do something to it a few times a week and it wont be as bad as using heat everyday. When you do use heat use good products with it and your hair should be fine. I dont know what kind of hair you have but I am sure there are plenty of things you can do with it.

Try some natural hairstyles like braids, cornrows, kinky twist, etc. They allow you to have alot of styling options without having to do much. Only do this if you have healthy hair. Adding braids, etc. to damaged hair will only make the situation worse. A weave is a option as well sew-in is my preference.

Do you use the same thing to tie up your bun everyday? Maybe try using a pretty chopstick or a pencil to do it up? Or instead of just pulling your hair straight back, part it and tie it back so the part is visible; that's a good look (usually).

Hair sticks! You can get some really flash ones that fancy a bun up a treat! Your can even make your own with kids chopsticks and some old dangly earrings.

Keep wearing a bun everyday, and then when you get a date, wear your hair down. That's sexy.
In the mean time, apply lip gloss right before and after lunch.

Take the bun out. You could let your hair air dry before work and let it hang long.

you should try curlers(the kind you put in at night and you dont have to heat up)
then just take them out in the morning and use a little hairspray
if you dont want to try that, i agree with kittypet, you should try putting things in your bun, maybe like a flower
hope that helps!
=)
