I have heard people swear by Japanese Hair relaxers - they are more expensive than normal relaxers, but last longer and makes hair REALLY straight

First of all that Japanese thing is like $500 or more so scratch that as a gift. Second of all I had it done twice and will never do it again. Just think that the top of your hair is curly but the bottom is straight...not cool. You would seriously have to keep doing it for the rest of your life and with hair like hers as often as it starts to grow back out. I had to cut ALL the hair off that had been straightened and start with all new hair. I did this over time but I lost over a foot of hair.
You can use serums and a good iron like a CHI which is about $120 or they have a newer one that is a little more. Also, you should blow dry while still really wet because the more time the hair has to naturally dry the curl sets and is harder to straighten out.

well, the best straighteners are GHD's and chi (by farouk) but they cost anywhere from $100-200
my recommendation: i have extremely thick, wavy hair that i straighten with a remington wet 2 straight, but i never do it on wet hair because that damages it. it has up to 30 settings, but i only need to spend about 20-30 minutes on a setting of 9 to get it smooth and straight. i'm assuming that the higher heat settings would straighten her hair perfectly, since my crazy hair only needs a 9.
to straighten: clip the hair up in app. 6 sections, then straighten by section. run the iron over several times if needed, but do NOT leave it in one spot for more than 4 seconds
make sure she is using a good heat protectant before and after such as V05 (which can be bought at walmart) and doesn't do it more than once a week. good luck!

I have super curly hair that gets frizzy easily...I wash it, let it air dry(less frizzy than blow drying) then taking one small section at a time, I use a ceramic flat iron and straighten each piece. Use a clip to put the hair you aren't working with on top of her head. When I am done my hair is super shiny and nice and straight. It works! U can use a straightening gel with it if you want, but I don't use any hair products, they damage your hair sometimes. Good Luck!!

Chemicals would only dry it out more. I would get her a better straightener and (not porcelin), and have her use a leave in conditioner before drying her hair. My saughter has crazy curly hair and it is slowly slimming down with that shampoo and conditioner she uses a blue bottle, I can't think of the name of the product but it is suppose to actually straighten the hair. It works a little, but maybe it will help with her straighter. POrcelin is better for the hair but it doesn't straighten as good as the normal ones.

hi, I extremely have the actual subject and finally stumbled on the respond! The straightener sounds advantageous, yet while no longer, you ought to purchase a conair straigtener for below one hundred$ at zellers. So all you ought to do if once you straigten your hair (in sections!) in simple terms blow dry it downwards in direction of the floor and then put in your hair products after. no longer too lots, although, because of the fact then your hair will seem greasy. wish this enables! xx haleigh

Iron it. That will get it straight. Then liberally apply Elmer's glue. Let dry 3 hours. It will look really wonderful. You might even ad glitter to the glue.

she should only wash her hair once a week, then before and after straightening put a smoothing serum in it. like paul mitchell. also get her a really good straightener, thoughs ones at walmart never work. it should have a maximum heat level of 400*. hope i helped and good luck to both of you! =)
