Hiya.

I'm 18 and have been dating my boyfriend (who is 24) for almost a year and I love him very very much.

But he's been distant lately and I feel lonely. I've been flirting with this customer that comes into the restaurant often (I'm a waitress). He overheard me telling a coworker about my boy troubles and said "Stop dating that little boy and get with a man."

He is 47 and very handsome. He can offer me so much.

Should I give it a go with this older gentleman, or try to sort things out with my current bf?

*Forgot to add, my boyfriend and I were engaged....not planning on marrying till Im done with college.

I just feel like he doesn't care. And the 47 year old does.

Here's the thing

When I first started dating my BF I was concerned about the 6 year age gap. It took me a while to get over.

With this 47 year old, for some reason I'm not concerned at all. It's meant to be I think.

He's not after you for your conversation skills or intellectual brilliance, I can tell you that. When the age gap is that large, with the man being older, the only thing he's looking for is sex. Trust me, I know.

I was going to say go for the older man...until I read that he is 47! Your bf who's 24 is the perfect age gap for you- 6 yrs. I really think you should work it out with your bf rather than jump into a relationship with a guy that you dont know anything about. You have so much to lose. Think first before doing anything, you don't wanna do something you'll regret for the rest of your life.

You said you love your current very much.. then I don't see why not try to work it out with your current b/f. If your b/f changed heart, then there's nothing you can do about the relationship.

As of the older man, you mentioned he can offer you so much. What can he really offer you? What do you know about this man? Do you want a relationship? or you just want to look around? If you have no feelings for anybody right now, you can date this old man depends on your personality. If you were to ask me, I wouldn't date him.

Neither. If it isn't working with your bf, break up.
As for the 47 yr old, how do you know he could "offer so much?". You don't even know him!
Go to college, get a real job, make your own money. Don't be one of those girls who becomes financially dependent on men for no good reason.
Find a man AFTER you get your life together.

If you have trouble with your current boyfriend, move on. DO NOT go out with a guy who is as old, or older than your dad. That is just icky.... There's something very wrong is he goes for you, and equally as wrong that you don't see you need someone nearer your age. You have a lot of life experience to get through before maturing - get some post-secondary education, live out on your own, etc...

Jesus Christ, when will young girls learn that older men aren't in love with them. They just want the arm candy. Don't go out with someone just because you think they can "offer" you things. Stop thinking about the will.
