From what I understand, Mormons do not believe in the Deity of Jesus Christ. In other words they do not believe that Jesus was God. By definition in the Christian faith you must believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that he rose from the dead. The definition of a "cult' is that it takes some form of Christian beliefs but distorts very important foundational principals such as denying the Deity of Jesus Christ......In Jesus own words he said, "That the only way to the Father, (God), was through the Son, (Jesus)... If you deny Jesus is God you can not go to Heaven...

Mormons use the same terminology as mainstream Christians, but they give them different meanings.
They have most rejected the teachings of historic Christianity, and have formed their own beliefs, so they are not considered to be Christian.
For example, they believe that God used to be a man who lived on another planet, and he evolved into God. They think that all people can become gods, so they reject monotheism. They think that Jesus and Satan are brothers. They do not believe in the Trinity, original sin, salvation by grace, or Hell.
They have rejected the Bible for the most part, and rely on their own writings for their teachings.
And Mormons teach that they are the only true church, and that all other Christian denominations are liars and apostates, so even the Mormons believe that they are not "Christians" in the classical sense of the word.
And so on ...

I have briefly read the book "Kingdom of the Cults". Very extensive reading, by Walter Martin. Very knowledgable man in Christ. There is a section on the Mormons. Totally a different Jesus, then what Christians believe. Hope this helps.

The "christ" that Mormons believe in is far different than the Christ of the New Testament.
Of course a Mormon will disagree with that.
Added:
The Jesus of the Bible is The Word of God, with God from the Beginning manifested as Jesus, God who chose to veil his deity was sent by the Father through a miraculous virgin birth to die for the repentant.
The Mormon Jesus is the brother of Lucifer. God was once a man like you or I who attained godhood through his works. Jesus and Lucifer, his sons fought for who's plan of salvation was a better way. God chose Jesus' plan. The mormon Jesus is the product of a physical, sexual relationship between God and Mary.
There is more fallacy of the mormon belief system and theology.

Mormons do not believe in the Deity of Jesus Christ. They are one of the most segregated groups around. They are just covering it up because, they were found out and they do not want a big nasty scandal, so the just incorporate black people into their congregation. Mormons have their own created version of God and Jesus. You need to check this cult out more closely. Read about their history.

Many reasons. Many people, including myself, do not think they worship the same Jesus Christ as a Christian does. Way to many details to tell you now. There are 100's of differences between what a Christian believes and what a mormon believes.

I'm not going to judge Mormons, but they do not believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. They also believe that they have received a revelation through Joseph Smith which they added into their bible. They are nice people, but I would not call LDS by the name of Christians. Peace

You must not have read to much more about the Mormons they also think they are from one of the tribes of Israel. They say that they are from the tribe of Ephraim. Hosea 4:17 Ephraim is joined to idols: let him alone. If that is so then they will not be in the kingdom for Ephraim has be take out of the 12 tribes of Israel that go into the kingdom on earth. Christians don't come back to earth when they die they go to heaven. Romans 11: 25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. Why would you want to be part of a blind nation and be from a tribe that worship idols.

The LDS (Mormon) name says it all, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Ask your Mormon neighbor or ask some missionaries to answer your questions.
The LDS Church leadership are adamantly apposed to members being critical of others.
Judge not let ye be Judged.
Members of the LDS Church are not Protestants, they are Christens. The are not protesters of the First church.
