If you don't have something, or have never had it, you don't miss it. So I'm sure that the Amish aren't sad about not having tvs, cell phones, and other advanced technology.
There's some that are happy, some sad. Just like any other society.

I live near Amish land. I was surprised the 1st time I walked into a bar and seen an Amish man sitting at the counter having a drink.
Not all amish people are thrilled with their life. They now have a main telephone out in a barn somewhere with an answering machine attached (to electricity), but they dont have them in their houses.
They all get together and pay 1 person to drive them to places such as the movies, to the Walmart, to the hospital to visit relatives. A couple of them have cars hidden in the shed so they can drive somewhere if they need.
The young amish girls love to get out, slap on their tight jeans, put on makeup and chase the boys.
Some of them are happy, and some of them are not. It depends.

I've never heard of Omish people... where do they live? Why does it matter if they are happy with their lives or not???

I don't personally know any Amish, but I do work with a fellow who is Mennonite. He and his wife and two teenage children seem very happy, especially when compared to the materialistic people all around.

"Omish" people?
Is that people who meditate without the use of any modern technology?

I see the bitches in Schlotzskys all the time buying sandwiches. Homemade rye and rabbit sandwiches must not be hitting on much these days, so I'll wager that's a negative.

That would be "Amish" and I am sure most are quite content. Think how little stress they have to deal with. Sometimes their simple life looks rather appealing.

I think I'd be happy there. I'm guessing their stress levels are about a tenth of ours. They all work together. No deadlines. No bills. No traffic. Almost no crime. God is the center of you life. What's to hate?

why do modern people worship technology? it hasn't gotten us anywhere. its destroying the world.
