The material platform if fraught with problems, that are very difficult to overcome, the prime difficulty is we have a temporary material body that is generally identified, through false ego as our self, the material body is not only relative or temporal it is also full of ignorance and suffering.

The spiritual body however which is our real eternal self, is eternal, full of knowledge and bliss, to revive the spiritual body is not only the real purpose of human life but is the greatest benefit to the individual and society at large.

The great fountainhead of spiritual wisdom, the Bhagavad Gita has this to say :-

Chapter 6 Verses 20 to 23

In the stage of perfection called trance, or samādhi, one's mind is completely restrained from material mental activities by practice of yoga. This perfection is characterized by one's ability to see the self by the pure mind and to relish and rejoice in the self. In that joyous state, one is situated in boundless transcendental happiness, realized through transcendental senses. Established thus, one never departs from the truth, and upon gaining this he thinks there is no greater gain. Being situated in such a position, one is never shaken, even in the midst of greatest difficulty. This indeed is actual freedom from all miseries arising from material contact.

Phillipians it says the following about your mind

4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.
4:9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Happiness is only temopary, as we all know. No one is or can be happy all the time, although I can think of a few that can seem that way...anyways, to have true happiness, I believe (and im a Christian) that you must read the Bible and communicate with Christ on your own level, dont try to be something youre not with him, he loves you the way you are. I have felt unhappy for a long time but when i dug into the word of the Lord and started to communicate with him again, my life turned around...try thinking in this mind set....stop thinking what can i do to please myself and start to think...what can i do to help you (others)..because helping others is my way of getting happiness, just try it, for everyone i have said this to it has worked, and just remeber this is coming from an extremly shy person, and it does work.

All conditions are temporary.

Suffering has nothing to do with events, but with one's reaction to them. What's happening is merely what's happening. How you feel about it is another matter.

If you do not go within, you go without.

Feeling is the language of the soul.

Everyone can love everything the moment they understand what they are doing, and why.

Your happy destiny is unavoidable. You cannot be "saved". There is no hell except not knowing this.

Are you looking for what I call "inner peace" ??? The book of proverbs is the book about King Solomon's wisdom which is still very applicable to today's life. I believe we are all just a work in progress, but I have begun to believe that inner peace (contentment, happiness, etc) is in direct proportion to our willingness to walk in God's will. Someone once told me that the secret to getting a good night's sleep is a clear conscience...which fits right in with walking in God's will...not ours. Good question for me to think about!!!

His Grace is sufficient! True Happiness is found through a relationship, trust and faith in Christ. When you pray, ask God to enlighten you and show his presence to you. Ask him to increase your faith and give you understanding. His presence will light up your being like nothing else! God be with you!

"Spiritual" is such a meaningless word. I find much more happiness and contentment in reality. I don't need to imagine invisible beings.
