What would you do?

Imagine the office gossip.

We were both consenting adults and there was no such company policy. We were both working seperately in our own profession at the same office.

I would just hold my head up high as if nothing happened. Don't be ashamed of anything that you've done.

Obviously the office tongues were wagging at the water cooler. What would I do, besides wanting to tear the jerks heart out with rusty scissors, dropping him from my list of people I talk to.
Hmm.... Trying to tell my side of the coin would be on my agenda.
Would it be the best thing to do, probably not.
I do have to set the record straight in some way.
He may have painted himself as the great guy and you as less than respectable.
He may have said that there was more to the two of you than is what it really is. That is an unknown at this time.
Whatever he said is not as important as is what you do and say.

This is exactly why most employers prohibit dating co-workers. I wouldn't do it for the same reason -- you are now experiencing the consequences. Office gossip will eventually die down, but hopefully your employer will not fire you. There are plenty of people you can date outside of your job. Of course if you do get fired, which I hope you won't, that does have an up side. Then you can date this guy all you want. Good luck!

Well I suppose it would depend on a couple of things:

1) Is it against stated company policy?

2) Did he brag about how good you were or embarrass you in some way?

3) Were you really drunk or stoned and you did things that you shouldn't have done?

This is exactly why u should never ever date someone at ur job. Guys like this like to talk to much. Rumors get made and the next u know is that people are talking behind ur back and are getting into business. Avoid dating co-workers. Find someone outside ur job environment!

Oh My! That's very embarrassing. That is not professional. You shouldn't never date your co -worker. Basically work is like a high school people is going to know your business even if he didn't tell. But sense he did deal with it, and take this as a lesson.

Unless it is against company policy, why would you care if he told someone? He thinks you are enough of a catch, that he must want everyone to know!

You don't want people to know because why? Are you going to get in trouble? Are you married. Why is it a big deal??? I don't get it? If none of the above then who gives a ****?

Find a new job and a new bf. Oh, and keep your ankles crossed next time until you know a persons character.
