Islam a while ago, is it in his capacity as the vicar of christ? Or just as another human being?

Then he was criticized and insulted by some Muslims for the quote, do the Catholics feel insulted too because their vicars of Christ is insulted and criticized by Muslims?

Jesus during his time spoke against the status quo. He said a lot of things that were offensive to the powers that be because he said things the way they are, it cause him rejection and his life, and yet spoke of peace and love until death. There is no difference whit what Pope Benedict did.

No, I dont feel insulted and neither should they. Besides once something is taken out of context it is impossible to rectify it.
