In my opinion, only totally non-toxic sprays should ever be used around any pets, children, or you! Studies all over all showing that bleach and other chemicals are linked to cancer.
You can get a lot of inexpensive options that work well at Whole Foods or wherever (under $3 for store brand). Also, try white vinegar. It is a good and cheap cleaner.
If you do ever use that other stuff, make sure you rinse and scrub it well with very hot water.
PS--bleach isn't safe either, CF!

I go along with Julianne, we have no idea what effect all these cleaning products are having on us and our environment. How did our parents and grandparents every survive without all this "disinfectant " stuff? They really did very well. My father had gall bladder surgery in the 1930's and he lived another forty-five years. There were no anticiotics and not too much in the way of cleaning materials except soap.
Cats would hate the smell of Febreeze in or around their litterbbox. Lysol and cholorox are not good for the environment.
I clean my cat's litterboxes with soap and hot water. Sometimes I set them out in the sun to dry. My cats don't get sick, I don't get sick.
I do use the dishwasher for washing drinking glasses and I wash my hands. I hope you live as long as I have and have good health to boot.

I use PineSol when I clean my litterbox and my cats don't seem to have a problem with it, I just make sure I rinse it really well before giving it back to them to use. Lysol I am not really sure about, sorry. Febreze, no.

NO - both are not 100 % safe
febreeze is owned by Proctor & Gamble (the same company that now owns IAMS) this company is notoriously linked with cruel animal testing so if you love animals you wouldnt use this product
lysol is very bad for pet lungs and human lungs too.. really all chemicals are dangerous as the contribute to cancer risks
bleach is a safe cleaner for litter boxes....

I would think so. I've used it around my pets. I'm not sure that the cat would continue to use the litter box.
As for everyone concerned with chemicals and crap unless you're using an all natural litter you've got chemicals, read the box before preaching.

No, it's not safe, because it has a lot of chemicals. Use stuff specifically for cats >

Pesonnaly if you use clumping type and change it daily, you shouldn't have a problem. IF you want urine and feces to sit around for days well I am not sure what you would use to tone that smell down.

I use febreeze, lysol, clorox spray and any other spray that I have and it has never bothered my cat.
