Huh? Aren't they usually pre-cut?

Right down the length (the long way) of the bun. Don't they come pre-split so you do not have to cut them yourself.

there is no right or wrong way, but your putting the wrong thing in them, hot dogs are gross, but put some tuna salad or chicken salad in them and yummmm!
