He'd first have to declare that the selection of the suitcase was a matter of faith and theology; then God would be forced to whisper it to him. He'd be pissed of course, but God would have to fork over the info.

no, i dont think God will do that. God has to take care of many people who are left fending for themselves in 3rd world countries. may be God will give Pope some courage to play the game and make good decisions.

Why would HE? The Pope is not greater than the rest of us in God's eyes. i know the Catholic people think so, but i suggest they read the Bible and see that we are all equal.
