I found this recipe on-line. Maybe you could compare it to yours.

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup evaporated milk
2 tablespoons cocoa
4 ounces butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped pecans
2 1/2 cups quick-cooking oats

PREPARATION:
Combine sugar, milk, cocoa, and butter in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly; boil for 1 minute.
Remove from heat; stir in vanilla and chopped nuts.
Add oatmeal and stir to blend thoroughly.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper.
Makes about 4 dozen no bake chocolate oatmeal cookies.

OATMEAL DROP COOKIES

3 cups oatmeal
1/2 cup cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup nuts (optional)
Mix the above and set aside.

Then mix the following:

2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup or 1 stick butter or margarine

Cook and boil 3 minutes only. Add oatmeal mixture and mix well and then drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper.

Warning: Do not use anything except waxed paper; other types will melt into cookies. Also, drop from pan quickly or it will harden before you finish.

I too had this problem. Was told that as soon as you remove pan from
heat immediately add the oatmeal and mix, this way you are "cooking" the oatmeal and yet it is still hot enough to melt the peanut butter.

Using your own recipe, try adding a little more oatmeal and less peanut butter or oil. experiment with a small batch at a time and see what works for you! :)

Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper...this part is the last part of recipe..keep on paper to cool down..then you may want to refrigerate after cooled.

You might not be cooking them long enough. Make sure you are following the amounts of each ingredient. Another reason for possible not setting is humidity. If it is rainy, they will not set as hard.

LOVE THESE COOKIES!!!!!

make sure to let them cool long enough

if that doesn't work, you added too much butter or oil...........
