I've been dying my hair for about 2 years and its just getting to be too damaging for my hair. How do I get my natural color back without waiting for it to grow out? I dont even know what my natural color is anymore...What should I do?

See what colour your regrowth is, then dye it something close to that colour so the next lot of regrowth isn't as noticeable.

You HAVE to remember what your natural color was ! Buy an over the counter color that matches your natural color the most, color it ONCE, and let it grow out. After the roots are about 1 inch, you will see that there is not too much of a color diffference. It will blend in, no worry there.

I used herbal essence level 2 colors. They are semi permenant, so they wash out in about 2 months. You can gradually go back to your regular color without the two tone affect. And I find that they are very moisturizing for my hair. They use virtually no peroxide.
FYI... I thought I had a wash out color for a Bronco game last halloween... the orange didn't wash out. I'm still covering orange in my hair.
Good Luck.

find some old pictures if you can and try to match it up to a box color or show a stylist. if you cant find any pics maybe take a sibling or an old friend that might remember!! or wait till ur roots are showing about an inch and match the color to that!!
