I think saxquiz has made his point.
you guys keep picking on Muslims when there are no such statement in the Qur'an to match what the Bible says how women should be treated.
we know you don't treat them this way. but you have to be disobeying the Bible to treat them with the respect they deserve.

Somehow I feel that he knew that women were after the priests job. I do not agree that women should be priests or pastors or any of that, as a matter of fact this is the abomination that is spoken of in the book of Revelation. I don't know if you paid any attention to the evil one in "The Passion of the Christ" but, it was strange that it was a man looking like a woman or vice verse but I am a woman and I am very happy to be in the background at Church doing womanly things. I will not stand around though and listen to some men saying that homo-sexuality is alright and I won't stand for the denial of biblical miracles which is all the rage these days (there was no parting of the Red Sea, it was only a low tide)(to this I always say "Glory to God! It was a bigger miracle then what we thought--Pharaoh's entire army drowned in only a couple of inches of water)So as long as men remain true to the Gospel they have nothing to say about me.

what's with those questions this evening. Why are men so fearful of ladies's sexuality. women are actually not 2nd type electorate which would be relegated to the kitchen. those days are long previous. interior the Celtic Pagan society women have been equivalent to the boys, they have been even warriors. What functionality all of us placed in society grew to become into according to ability and decision, no longer by making use of what hung between their legs.

This applies when the husband is a Christian God loving fearing man. Don't twist it! If the husband is a Christian, yes the woman should be going to her husband for things, God commands that men love their wives as he loves the church, so having said that, the husband would have the total best interest of his wife. I do not agree with women being a preacher, Reverend, priest, etc. It is not how God intended it. Finally, yes, woman was made as a companion for man, but for man to love and take care of.
If the man does not follow God, then the woman, although should still show respect and submission to her husband, should follow Gods words first. In other words, not follow her husband if she knows he is leading her away from God.

In 1 Corinthians 11, Paul instructed the church in Corinth about a woman covering her head WHILE SHE PRAYS OR PROPHESIES.
Prophecy is spreading God's message so Christian teaching IS PROPHECY. Since women can BOTH PROPHESY AND REMAIN SILENT, we need to take BOTH of these things IN CONTEXT. It can be done, just under what circumstances?
Sounds like YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THE SCRIPTURES.

As for me, I am a Christian and a woman. I do believe all of the above scriptures, but I suggest you take the time to read them from the perspective of the times in which they were written. 1. Women were becoming educated in the Corinthian church era and they were becoming more knowledgeable than their husbands. Even if we are RIGHT, we are to keep silent until we are able to ask our husbands in private. This is a respect for the headship of the man. 2. This verse is in reference to the church setting only. We are not made to be the teachers of the whole church as far as theology or doctrine is concerned. We are to take the role of educating our children and other women under the authority of our husbands. 3. The Bible uses the clear picture of marriage to show how the whole system is to work. As wives, we are to submit (respect and come under their leadership) to our husbands. That is ALL we are called to do. Those poor things are called to LOVE us. Many of us are UNLOVEABLE! We got the better deal here, if you ask me. 4. Please hear my heart not just see my words...Men and Women were given different roles within the body of the family and the body of the church...We were not given unequal roles or less important roles...just different. I hope that this helps you to see something that took me many years to understand and come to a peace with. It made all the difference in my life when I was able to wrap my arms around the whole picture...when it comes to this one example. It cost me a marriage and destroyed my family. Praise the Lord, He is the God of second chances...I am grateful that He gave me another shot! Hope this helps.

The Bible does say that man is the head of the woman, but if you study the entire chapters, you will understand that it does NOT mean that the man is the DICTATOR of the household. Marraige represents the union of Christ and the church, and a man should treat his relationship with a woman in the same kind, loving, generous, thoughtful manner. Christ "rules" us with love and forgiveness, overlooking our faults. He was willing to give His life for us, and so should we be willing to give our lives for our wives. THAT'S how deep our love should be for our mate, and THAT'S the kind of "head" of the household He was talking about. Don't just take verses out of the chapters and not read the rest.

Most fundamental churches actually do teach these passages, and have taken a lot of flak for it too. What's your point?
This is really old news:

Feminist Daily News Wire

Southern Baptist Convention Opposes Women Pastors
The Southern Baptist Convention declared yesterday in its revised "Faith and Message Statement" that women should not serve as pastors in their congregation. The Convention's passage of the statement follows a recent trend toward the far right amongst conservatives in the Southern Baptist Church,
which also opposes abortion and homosexuality. Within the past five years, conservatives have called for a boycott of the
Walt Disney Company for its queer-friendly policies, and the Convention has declared that wives should "submit graciously" to their husbands. Southern Baptist congregations act
independently of the Southern Baptist Convention, so the full ramifications of the Convention's statement on the Church's 1600
women clergy is yet to be determined....

That was written in a time when slavery was permitted and men were allowed to have concubines. People were stoned to death for breaking laws and the laws including cutting off your beard or not keeping the sabbath. Do you want to live by all of those rules? If so you are no better than the fundamentalist muslims who want to go back to the 15th century. You want to go back even farther than that.

YOU'RE JUST MESSING WITH US, RIGHT?
Men who hold the Bible over a womans head, give the rest of us a bad name. Because once they PISS thier old lady off, they think
the only way to get along with women is to kiss their butts. Then
they go around whining about what jerks we men all are, and how
much holier women are. BROTHER!
There are two kinds of DOGGS Homeboy! The kind that jumps
on your neck! And the kind that grovels at your feet! And a
woman cannot respect either one!

Why don't Christian men know their place? Haven't they read the Bible? Don't they know that they are to love and cherish and respect their wives? What's the matter with these guys, anyhow?
Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
Eph 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
Eph 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
Eph 5:28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
Eph 5:29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
Eph 5:30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
Eph 5:31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
Eph 5:32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
Eph 5:33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife [see] that she reverence [her] husband.
Col 3:19 Husbands, love [your] wives, and be not bitter against them.
1Pe 3:7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with [them] according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
1Co 7:3 Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.
1Co 7:4 The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
1Co 7:5 Defraud ye not one the other, except [it be] with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.
