When you see people who think they know the Bible and peruse the Bible to dispute it? How do you feel is the best way to handle those situations.

I doubt that we can change their mind and they are just looking for ways to make fun of Christians. And they are out in force on this website.

How do you feel as Christians we should respond to them?

To my fellow Christians that remain true to God, thanks for persevering and may God Bless you!

For the ones who are being total jerks about it, I don't even respond anymore. I totally ignore those questions. It wasn't worth the rise in blood pressure.

For the more sincere ones, I will sometimes try to answer their questions, but I don't spend a lot of time on it because even the relatively nice "Christian bashers" are not really open to our opinions anyway.

And in all cases, I'm cordial to them because I agree with some of the other postings that we are called to forgive. (Sometimes it's just a lot easier to forgive if you ignore the questions ! :)

I have in no way considered a lot element interior the Bible than interior the realm of judgment. yet that's that this very subject the position one of those massive volume of people, Christians protected, get it so incorrect. indexed below are merely some user-friendly ideas. A Christian is in no thanks to ex-communicate or condemn - Matthew 7:a million A Christian isn't to judge a non-Christian - a million Corinthians 5:13 A Christian IS think to judge someone claiming to be a believer - a million Corinthians 5:12 A non-believer's judgment incorporates no weight with God - a million Corinthians 2:15 The Christian is judged on a daily basis immediately, the non-believer later - a million Peter 4:17 because the believer's previous nature is lifeless and is born back in Christ, the suitable judgment will no longer practice. - John 5:24

The one thing that always comes to mind...
"The word of God is foolishness to those who are perishing".
How true that is. People take a verse (or two) out of context and use it to prove something it just doesn't mean in the text.
Once you have Jesus and are truly saved, the things that used to seem silly make perfect sense because your perspective is now correct.
For example.. the comment about the "SUN DOES NOT MOVE", well for crying out loud, SURE IT DOES! Ever see the form of a galaxy? That's not what the writer is talking about though, he means to say the sun will not change it's position in the sky (it will stop). This is perfectly understandable to most people.
Maybe he should have said, "Earth be still causing the sun to appear in a fixed place in our sky". No, I like it the other way.

I just try my best to help them understand... the rest is up to the Holy Spirit... Arguing never works... I simply ask them to get educated and then come back and try to make their arguments... of course they never to because they know that if they get educated then they can't make their arguments any more...

Like with the first person who posted an answer to your question... he obviously has absolutely no knowledge of the Bible and doesn't understand a thing about it... but yet still likes to use it to persecute Christians...

They are only hurting themselves by making themselves look stupid... I just let them make a fool of themselves and laugh silently...

One day they will realize the truth... a sad day that will be...

When you speak to the person's intelect, you get a good conversation, and maybe even a heated arguement or two. It has been my experience that it is alot easier to just circumnavigate the intelliect, and speak directly to their conscience by using God's Law. "Which show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness" Romans 2:15.

...the first thing is to always assume that the other person have more knowledge and more experience than you have in terms of knowledge of Scriptures and Spiritual experiences...

that way, you will think twice to bash, to demean, to belittle or to act as if you know more than what you actually know.

...the second thing is to assume that people who make fun of Christians, have their own personal reasons for doing it, and nobody besides their closest family & friends, can even begin to say that they know what is going on inside their minds (& hearts)...

that way, you will think three times before you assume that you know what their intentions are.

... and thirdly, Christians should act like real Christians... that is why non-believers are here in the first place to challenge the beliefs of believers.

They may peruse it, but for the wrong reasons. At least as Christians, we read to understand God, NOT Christians. I truly pity those that get their jollies trying to prove someone's faith wrong. They don't understand that faith is just that, believing in something even though there may not be concrete, before your eyes proof.

Shake the dust from your feet.

I stop responding to people's questions when they are people who are just out to hammer in the nails. If people appear to be earnestly seeking, I answer their questions. If they appear to be disingenuous--pretending to want to be enlightened or else trying to "enlighten" others--I leave them be. They don't want anything I might have to offer them, and vice versa.

But, yeah, the answer to your question is, I believe, Christ's directive to his apostles: Preach if they will hear you, and leave them be if they will not. God may yet soften their hearts and open their minds...but you or I won't.
