It's been making them money for two thousand years now, why would they want to change it now?

First, a little background info: the King James Version of the Bible, which many churches still use today, was translated over four hundred years ago (from the original Hebrew and Greek manuscripts) by men who honestly believed every word of it.
The language they used at the time was filled with "thou" and "thee", and it is completely understandable how it can be tough to get through. This does not mean however, that the message has changed or should change. There are more "modern" interpretations of the Bible but many of them are translated not from the original Hebrew and Greek manuscripts but from translations of translations, etc. So therefore, some more modern interpretations tend to leave things out or change things around.
Still though, the Word of God is still the same...its message does not change. The reason why "modern" man does not fit in with the biblical message is because man always tries to be his/her own god. That was the original lie that Satan told Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:1-6). Because Adam and Eve obeyed Satan and not God, sin entered the world. The only way to be forgiven of sin is to believe that Jesus is the saviour and redeemer of mankind.
I do not mean to preach, but it is the hearts of men and women that need to change, not the Bible.
Always remember the verse "...professing themselves to be wise, they became fools."

We here at the Biblical Modernization Group are diligently ensuring that the bible is kept up with the times, or, as we like to say, "Yahweh becomes Your Way". We're currently updating the messiah with some much-needed bling and bringing in some stories where he lightning-bolts unbelievers. Sit back and get ready; this is the New Jesus and he's ready to kick some a-s-s.

A. There hasn't been a need to, the Bible has been tampered with so many times, and mistranslated even more that there is no need. B. You're gonna get caught, with technology nowadays, it's HARD to rewrite a book without getting caught. And what are you gonna do, sneak into EVERY house with a bible and replacing it with a new one? This ain't 1984 yet, and if it was there WOULD be NO NEED for a bible.

It is still fresh are you ready?
"Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
"Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
"I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star."

God is the same yesterday, today and forever. Heaven and earth shall passed away, but a jot of God's word shall not pass. Now tell me how do you update truth. God's word doesn't change to meet man, instead men conformed to God's word.

I see your avatar still shows critters emerging from the bog and forming into other critters even though what the avatar depicts is still only a figment of twisted men's imagination. How about updating with the many modern scientists that refute Darwin's theory?

If there were such plans, they better keep Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson away from it or we'll all burn in hell for sure.
