You seriously need to bookmark the sites below. Dr's Foster & Smith are one of the best and most informative pet sites on the web, despite the fact that their main page is commercial.

No, Augmentin is a form of amoxicillin, and will not mess up your cat, but it's hell on rabbits and guinea pigs. If your cat ate more than one however, I'd consider calling the vet. Too much can give a person diarrrhea, not sure about cats, but phew! See the first site, please.

(It's actually more dangerous to you, doctors don't tell you that amoxicillin can be toxic to your liver. I took 4 courses of it in a year for ear infections and wound up with a toxic but not contagious form of hepatitis, and contagious or not, hepatitis is awful.)

Augmentin is actually a drug that is used in vet medicine, only it's called Clavamox. So, depending on the amount the cat ingested, the most you might see is some diarrhea, maybe vomiting. I think to be safe, you should call the Animal Poison Control Center and ask them: 888-426-4435

How many capsules did he eat? Get off here and call a pharmacy or vet and tell them how much. One of them should help you. It might not be a poison to your cat depending on how much and last meal and so forth. Just ask someone before it gets to late to help him

Ugh! Thats such a nasty medicine. Yes, call the vet right away. Even a little bit of a human drug can kill an animal.
