Good ol' fashioned cardio followed by a great shower helps me get zZzZZzz's when I have had a particularly stress-free day.

Are you drinking caffeine too close to bedtime? If not, my guess is your mind is racing. You need to "process" your day. Think about all the things that happened....little details count. Little by little you'll be able to put your mind to rest quicker. It makes your dreams less vivid as well which could cause you to wake up more often. Also - if you wake up and remember something don't dwell on it. Think to yourself I thought about it or I remembered it and I'm going back to sleep. Period. ONE MORE thing.....try covering up the time on your alarm clock. You tend to get anxious if you're counting the times that you are up. Hope this helps.

Try taking Tryptophan (any health food store) it's in milk and turky but not enough unless you consume mass quantities. Perfectly safe, I gave it to my kids when they were little on Xmas Eve so they could sleep thru the night.

Do not have naps in the daytime, and have a proper YOGA before you go to bed. Then, exhale longer to relax when you are lying. Sweet dreams till the morning sun on your back..

Don't stare at your computer screen or watch TV before going to sleep. Try something relaxing.
