Two things:

First, Fundamentalism covers a swath of positions, and not all people agree on what positions qualify as fundamentalsim and which do not. I am a Southern Baptist, and I have been called liberal by some, and fundamentalist by others. To you, I am probably a fundamentalist, but to Fred Phelps, I am a flaming liberal. Second, one cannot conclude that an entire religion is bad or good for that matter based on a subset of that religion. If one is guilty by association, then anyone who is grouped in with others who share common beliefs would be guilty by association based on the actions of a few. So to answer the question, yes given the reality of fundamentalism, it is possible to have good religion. This is of course conditional -- it assumes that fundamentalism is the the only thing that you are using to disqualify a religion.
