Ok, i will answer this the best i can. I was in the same situation as you when i was 4 years younger. Except it was with soccer. Soccer was a little more time consuming than football for my school, but not a lot more. YES, try it, and if it does not work out, stop. It worked for me. I ended up with a 4.2 b/c of AP classes, the captain of my high school team(some of my junior year and all of my senor) and i made all conference in a very tough conference league. Do it, studies actually show that streneous exercise helps a person's mind think faster, clearer and better. So do it! That is, if you still want to play football next year.

If you organize your time properly, and you sound like a young man who has your head together, I am going to say that you will have no problem doing all of your activities.
It sounds like you are a planner and are thinking things out. These are excellent skills to have.
The good thing about football is that it is at the beginning of the school year, the first few weeks are a review anyhow and if you stay on it you will have no problem. By the time things start getting really tough, the season will be over.
Go for it, and enjoy.

If it is your passion then you should play and play well. Take the necessary precautions and get the physical. Then do something that makes you happy to do it well. You may find it helps with your grades because you will learn new skills and a new kind of logic

Is football really your passion? If so, then you should definitely give it a shot. If things don't work out, you can always drop it. But if your GPA is a 4.0, I doubt you'll have any problems. Smart folks usually do better when challenged more. Go for it!

If you really love it then definitely play, but if you're more concerned about your grades than football you might not want to. Several of my guy friends play and they sometimes have a hard time keeping their grades up.
