It doesn't sound like you have a full blown eating disorder-yet. But it can definately escalate into one if you don't stop obsessing over your weight. You don't sound that big. You could start by just exercising more, and you may find that your body will be in better shape, if not smaller. Don't ever throw up again! It's disgusting enough if you can't help it!

First, eating under 1000 calories is a little on the low side, and even though you might not feel it immediately, it will hit you one day in a really big binge. And I know how that works all too well.
Your height and weight do not classify you as anorexic, but you do have an image problem. What you have is called ED-NOS: eating disorders, not otherwise specified. It's no less dangerous, even if you're not at immediate risk of dying, you are slowly killing yourself nonetheless.
Purging is not good, don't try it again. It's not something you can do once and stop there, it will take over and soon you will be doing it 9 times a day and you're going to have bad teeth, bad breath, puffy cheeks, swollen eyes, osteoporosis, and your imbalanced electrolytes can trigger a heart attack any moment.
And no, you don't need to be twig thin to have an eating disorder. Get help now.

It is a body image disorder & you are heading toward anorexia. This is a very serious disorder which could kill you. All your hormones, electrolytes etc. get way out of balance & cause organ failure & death if not gotten under controll. Please seek help right away. Talk to a trusted adult, perhaps the counselor at school or a teacher or relative whom you trust. They will help you get the help you badly need.
It sounds as if you are just about the right weight for your height. I weigh a lot more than you & am quite a bit shorter. However when I wore a size 3, everyone tried to get me to gain some weight. I thought I looked really good but when I look at those photos now, I was gaunt.
Again, I beg you for your health's sake, seek help.

It sounds like you have the mentality of someone with an eating disorder.
You see, i struggled with anorexia since the middle of last year and with the grace of God, i've rcovered already and have stopped starving myself.
However, i'm not completely okay yet. I still worry about gaining weight.
Please, listen to me and consult someone to help you. Cos, i started out feeling lousy about my weight at the beginning and i didnt know that i would slowly slip into the trap of an eating disorder.

An eating disorder is not something to be taken lightly. People have died from it and some struggle with it almost their whole life.
It will ruin your body, your life and the lives around you.

I advice you to just plan out a healthy diet and do 30mins of exercise a day. And you'll be on your way to some weight loss. Do it the right way and you'll be fine.

Calculate yr body mass index : weight(kg) / ht(m) X ht(m)

if you are within the range on 18.2 to 24.9, then you're of a healthy range.

God bless :)

I have always felt over weight and it is something you need to deal with before anymore of your actions and thoughts do turn into an eating disorder. If you just cut out the junk food and exercise a little you'll lose those few pounds you think you need to lose. Please don't think of losing weight by throwing up or taking laxatives. That's really dangerous to your health.
Talk to a school nurse or dietitian about how you feel. They may be able to give some good suggestions to you.
Healthy eating and all the best.

Okay- reality check. What is your age? You body changes until your in your mid-twenties. Please promise to love yourself and stop worrying about the weight. This is a "wake up call" this action on your part means you need guidence, not validation for this behavior. Here's some of that for you!

Cover your body with beautiful clothes and if the waist fits you and the legs don't - "alterations" need to be done to make it fit "you". Most woman have "tailors" to custom fit a piece of clothes to their shape. Buy a size bigger and alter it to fit you!

Most woman just don't wear clothes that are "right for them anyway". It makes them look fatter or shorter or what ever.

IT IS NEVER THE CLOTHES SIZE! ( those are lies- created to sell clothes- really)

Its not the NUMBER of the Weight- either! Don't tell anyone that number ( its just as personal as your social security number to YOU). I recommend you just Don't weigh yourself, just get it at the doctors office for your check ups.

Depending on you age you are most likely taller than most anyway- right? You may be more "curvey-woman shaped".

5'6" is 120-140 on average woman. If you have more muscles, guess what you will weigh much more- That is also VERY normal!

OKAY HERE IT COMES!
STOP IT! The abuse to your body- NO barf, NO starving, NO over exercising. Just Don't listen, accept or deal with those idiots telling you what you body "should" look like!

I am a 20 years recovered Eating disorder (barfer) for 5 years. I was in the hospital for aniexita and this whole experience destroyed my vocal cords, my throat and my stomach, digestion system. It was horrible and honestly it never really helped me!

What I learned is that I'm my "own" body and will never be like you or others. I am naturally 5'1" tall, with Size F boobs
(large cataloupe size each), on top of that I have broad shoulders (manly) and very curvey hips, with a short waist. Which translates too a short very round woman. I have to get custom and altered clothes for everything. Special Bras and Panties too. The only thing that fits me off the shelf is socks and shoes.

Get this great book "WHAT NOT TO WEAR" its by the BBC tv show creators- two woman whom will show you step by step and body part by part- on each page HOW to dress for you body. Its a wonderful investment in you!.

TRUST ME- once you start feeling great in the "right clothes for your body". It will be incredible "HOW" you will feel about you.

sorry, but it sounds like you do.

which one?

well...you dabbled with bulimia, but stopped.

if you obsessively excerise, then you'll end up with the not as heard of disorder about the overexercising and trying to burn every single calorie you intake...and then trying to diet afterwards.

and then...we end at anorexia nervosa. you are not letting yourself eat enough calories to be considered healthy. you are oobsessive about what you intake, and you sound like you count every calorie.

please get help. you are probably at a healthy weight for your height. if you want to look fit and toned, then exercise and eat healthfully...as in lots of whole grains, fruits, veggies, meat, and not a lot of junk. not like counting calories obsessively. your body needs to be replenished after you exercise.

What you have is a body image disorder, possibly. If you keep this up, you could end up with an eating disorder and a lot of health and emotional problems. Consider telling a trusted adult about these feelings of yours. It could save your life a lot of heartaches.
