Every thing has a purpose on God's earth. Spiders kill inscets. Good and bad. They don't differ. They are also food for the wasp. Wasp's feed on spiders, they sting them and put them in the nest to feed the young. Its a vicious circle. However, It does not mean anything spiritually. The only trouble they mean is if you let them bite you. Its quite painful.

Spiders are a major predator of insects and help keep other type buggies under control. As far as ugly - I guess i thought that too at one point. Then I learned to appreciate the beauty of spiders. There are some striking black and yellow ones, some neat little yellow ones that hide in my tulips, some large red and orange orb weavers that build the most incredible webs - I've seen one catch a wasp in it's net and eat it. I now have a tarantula that is part of the menagerie I keep. They really are fascinating creatures. Some house spiders and recluse are coming out now - looking for mates - really you want to stay away from these as they can be more aggressive that others give a nasty bite - so they could mean trouble.
