It would be better to wait first till the semester is over and the final grades are given, and then go ahead and ask. It will remove all the unnecessary pressure, so you can fully concentrate on a date and enjoy each other's company. Good Luck!

Absoloutly...saves you both any possible headaches...plus, it's only like 2 1/2 months untill the end of the semester now. As soon as the semester is over & your grade is in...it's fair game. Good luck, hope it works out for you...I know there are some very sexy, intelligent professors out there! Wooh!

wait till the semester is over to avoid complications, AND wait for the professor to ask you out first :)

I personally would not recommend either approach. You and your professor could be on an honest date, however all it takes is someone to see you two together and tongues start wagging. This can cause severe consequences for the professor, particularly should you happen to score higher than anyone else on an exam or a paper.
Stop and think, is your college career or your professors professional career worth giving someone the "Gossip channel headline?"

I would avoid the problems and forget asking him out. You will make a fool of yourself. There are rules, sweetie.......they are not going to jeopardize their jobs. Pick on one of the little college boys.

Go ahead and ask, but if he's ethical he'd politely say "No". Wait at least a year.
