i have a '03 Xterra and i'm going to pick up my new '06 Ford Explorer in the morning. will there be a big difference in the insurance. and does anyone know how to figure for a tag?? purchace price: $31,000

The ONLY way to know is to ask your auto insurer and then stop by the court house and ask them what a tag will cost. They will know in both cases.

By the way....people don't think about it BUT, they should consider the insurance and tag cost before buying certain types of automobiles. Pops

You didn't says what state you live in because tag cost vary from state to state. The Ford has a higher value then the Nissan, so your collision will be higher but liability should be lower given the extra safety features in the Ford.

It's possible it will be about the same or lower if the vehicle you bought has more safety features than the one you had. You need to call and ask.

Well depends do you have full coverage on the Xterra and do you have to have full coverage on the Explorer

Only your agent can quote the new car, they have all the relevant info, like your existing premium, territory, etc.
