Some contraceptive pills and shots can have that effect. You should see your doctor about changing what you are using. It's normal to lose up to 200 hairs a day though, and if your hair is long that can seem like a hell of a lot.

You could have low thyroid. If it continues, go to a specialist and have a test done.
