Everyone in my family has that, except me. I survived a life-changing experience that make me really appreciate life & kind of go down a one-way street now.
My dad was smoking marijuana & stuff before he got married, I think my mom did the same. My brother, I know he did some since I was there (he is my twin brother so we had a lot of the same friends in highschool).
My sister just has it & she has been drug free, I think light on the alcohol.
My parents, my brother & my sister all have bi-polar. My uncle is a freak & always drunk (he thought nobody saw he was drinking quite a lot of beer at Thanksgiving). I think my cousin is bi-polar just b/c of the way she looks & acts. Everybody in my immediate family has it under control, except my sister (I really feel bad for her).

I think it runs in the family.

Yes 95% Of Mental Illness Are Inherited ( I Read It On A Phanflet At Mental Health)

Yes. The disease itself is not inherited but the tendancy for it sure is., including alcholism & drug abuse. That part is called addictive personality. Just as a matter of note, when I was expecting my children, almost everyone smoked & a good number also drank if only at a party. We did not know the dangers. I had social drinks with all my pregnancies & smoked a pack a day with my last one. They (nor anyone else's babies) were born with withdrawal syptoms of any kind. I'm not condoning it now but just saying how it was. I've known people with very addictive personalities whose children didn't inherit it & others who have. Luck of the draw I guess.

yes, almost all of those you mentioned can be inherited man...so you have to keep strong and be your own person. The main reason of inhertiance through those kind of things are from you seeing and watching. You must be your own person. As for diseases, those are traits found in your genes and like bi-polar disease, diabetes, high cholestorol...that all runs in your family...see a doctor if you think you are any of the above man. Just remember...you are normal and everyone has problems like that.

Yes its in the genes and for the other 2. Its possible to make your children more likely to do those things. Ive also heard of cases of people who smoke and drink with a baby in the woumb the children come out with withdrawls.
