YES, YES ,YES

ALL Faiths/religions teach peace, and tolerance. All permit warfare as a DEFENCE of human liberties, life, and homeland. They do not promote greed or cruelty. Unfortunately, some followers, of ALL Faiths/religions, take this too far. If everyone lived by the teachings of defending ones land, Not attacking another nation or individual, there would be no war, or terrorism.

This world produces sufficient resources, food, fuel etc. for every person alive to have a good standadr of living. Due sloely to mans inhumanity to man, Political corruption, and greed of those in authority, these resources are not equally distributed, leaving many in great nedd. It is therefore understandable that some people will rebel, and twist their religious teaching to justify this.

If we could all live, and look out for others, in preference to ousselves, the world would be a far nicer place to live in. (Oh, by the way, we would not need to look after ourself, someone else would do that for us).

I realsie this is an idealistic viewpoint, but the question was IS it possible to live in peace. I believe it is.

No, just like we will never be able to live in peace with every other country in the world. Each have it's own oppinions and ways of doing it. Aswell as other thinking they are wrong it will always cause conflict between the two.
You also have the steriotypes that proceed any knowledge, so I don't think it will ever be possible. It is a shame but human nature doesn't seem to allow for total peace.

Book a holiday for 2 weeks (or 2 years) to Zanzibar, off the coast of Tanzania, and you will find all races, nationalities, colours, and religions living in hamony on the same streets as each other. I hope this has not changed in the last few years, it was a beautiful island which gave me, an agnostic, hope for the future.

A definate NO.

The whole basis for religion is to give the people at the top power.
These religious leaders would never allow us to live in peace.

The only way for us all to live in peace is to get rid of religion and begin to believe in each other.

Amazing how many replies have said yes but without Muslims!!
My answer is No, with or without Muslims, people should be educated from a very early age that if they want (or feel the need) to believe in a God then thats OK, but the trappings of religious groups or sects or 'leaders' are forbidden!

Yes it would be possible ,if not for the extremist minority in all religions who,s only purpose in life is to make innocent people suffer. Do they think God will wellcome them in heaven for what they are doing in life. Kill for self defence or invasion of your land, but the bombings of the innocent people,s of this earth is just against all things religious.

Yes, it's possible, if everyone actually followed their own religion's teachings. Problem is, people are not going to do this.

Las vegas steve, you're wrong. Islam teaches peace and tolerance, it's fanatics who misinterpret and twist it to suit their own agendas that you refer to. This can happen in christianity also, look at hitler, waco, other cults.
Like I said, if people actually FOLLOWED their religion's teachings, it's possible. With ignorant dolts like you, steve, it'll never happen.

It's possible. If everyone can maintain the attitude that all people are created equal. We have all been given freedom of thought and we can all decide how or if we worship a higher power.

There is only one Higher Power, regardless of what label is used to describe him/her, but there are many good people with good hearts, regardless of their religious choice.
