Judaism, which is why I find it rather funny that some man just came along, claimed to be the messiah (and G-d!~?) and expected the jews to simply abandon their religion in place of his own. And then, to boot, christians still expect it of jews today!
I think they really need to understand the significance of a status quo.

Still think maybe religion and belief is getting crossed up. Religion is a just a word. Belief will get you to Heaven. Before there was salvation there was sacrifice. The word christian is just a word for someone who has excepted Jesus as their savior. There are many Christians but only a few sons of God! There will be many people in hell that have religion and claim to be Christians!

For the Christian faith to get a firm foot in the ground it stole the teachings of Judaism and the stories from the Torah. It wouldn't have made it this far if it didn't have that history to place it's foundation down on. However, modern Christianity has so many different sects and cults. This happens when someone interprets something a different way and refuses to agree with the other sect. That is why there are so many religions today, all of them couldn't agree.

There were and still are many religions. But prior to Jesus, the method of worship chosen by God was Judaism. All (ALL), every other one is false.

People believed in the God's before Jesus (i.e. Zeus, Athena, Poseidon....). I'm not for sure of the other religions.

Judaism for the Israelites and a lot of pagan/idol worship from the other non-Jewish tribes.

Jesus was an Israelite/Jewish.
Ther were many other religions at that time as well.

Judaism and various pagan religions. christ was a jew, so all the anti-semitic beliefs by many fundamentalist christians really shock me...
