I am installing Cakewalk Sonar. It gets to about 33% and then it says "regedit is not a valid Win32 application" and I can't do nothing else. Even when I try to run regedit from the run menu, it tells me the same thing, but I can open it in the systems32 or Windows folder. What the heck!? I'm sure that Cakewalk Sonar is for Windows XP Pro., thats what I have.

That sounds as if you have a virus....Remove the viruses and things will probably clear up. If there's no anti-virus program installed or it it's not up to date, there are free online scans at Panda and Housecall.

I saw a virus over write regedit once. That is a pretty cleaver thing to come up with. I suggest that you go through the cleanup that you can find everywhere on this forum.

I had to manually copy it off the XP disk to get it to work again after I got it clean.

tough question. try installing it under a different winxp pro user name, try installing it in safe mode, try using a registry repair program to do some repairs to your registry and then try installing it again.
