Give the amount you can give with a happy heart. If you give more than you truly want to you will resent what you gave and if you give less you will feel like a cheap skate.

No one can tell you what to give because you are the only one that knows your circumstances and your brothers needs.

I agree with North said in the answer category. Its not about the money it about the gift from the heart. Sit down and think about what will be special to your brother and is new wife. Maybe you can buy a very nice picture to hang in their living room(just an example). but, if you feel you must give them money give them $100.00 because most people that go buy a wedding gift honestly spend no more then $60 to 85.00 dollars(do not be fool by the pretty gifts, most of them are probably from carat& barrel or taget)

It's not about money nor monetary value. It's about you giving your brother something you know he would love to have as he starts his new life as a husband. It can be something you made for him, or a poem you wrote expressing how you know he is going to be the perfect husband - have it framed and gift wrapped for him. Get a picture of him with his fiancee, doing something together - have it enlarged, framed and gift wrapped.

See if you can get a baby picture of the fiancee, a baby picture of your brother and have a photoshop transpose them into one photo. Then get a picture of him with his bride at the altar and add that to the original photo. These are gifts from the heart and they are gifts that keep on giving.

You didn't say how old you are, so that information would help. Are you his kid sister or baby brother still in school? Are you grown and on your own? These figure into it as well. Perhaps a bottle of champagne bottled the year of fiancee's birth. It's so much more than a bottle of wine when it signifies something so special.

Think with your heart, not your pocketbook.

The amount you spend on a wedding gift should roughly equal what the couple is spending on YOU to attend their wedding. Most weddings cost about $100-$150 PER PLATE (meaning per person!), so that's the range you should be aiming for. I know it sounds like a lot, but consider that's how much they're spending out of their pockets for you. If you can't afford that, then talk to someone about going in on a gift together, like with your parents or something...they might be able to cover a bit more of the cost for you.

None, the money should not be a factor. Get something that is special, if you two used to play football together give him a ball with a card asking his new wife to join you for a game. No one will remember the monetary amount (unless you get obvious dollar store crap) they will remember the thought and love put into it.

I think they would enjoy getting a gift chosen by you as something special that they can have in their home and remember you by. The amount doesn't matter - you know your brother well, and should be able to choose something to match his personality and likes.

If you are working and got a savings going for his wedding I would say $200 to $500.

If you are not working or don't earn that much $50 to a $100.

If you mean how much to spend on a gift, several times what you would spend on him for Xmas or Bday. If you are giving $ in liu of gift, same answer I guess.

Off the top of my head I'd say a hundred bucks, but it really depends on how close you two are, how much they're putting into the wedding and about a million other factors.
