I think humans are selfish, really. We tend to be shortsighted and pleasure centered, too. So we see something we want and we fight over it. We also want to avoid unpleasantness, and work is unpleasant and limiting our appetites is unpleasant, and someone else grabbing our stuff for their pleasure is unpleasant for us,, so we defend ourselves and fight. People see no reason to be patient, or to sacrifice anything for any higher cause than instant gratification without caring whose expense it is.
Unity becomes agreeing with the strongest one or else. Peace means shutup or else. We all want prosperity, for our selves.
You mention the one true God. I agree that He actually gives us enough for all to share. But we don't share. That's why He tells us that the sheep will be separated from the goats later on,, and that those who are very comfortable in luxury now are having their reward now,, and the poor will have theirs later on. But we don't look to eternity and a heaven later on... we want it NOW!

1. we are incapable of unity and peace, though we do have prosperity. maybe not the kind of prosperity you meant, though. as long as there are people in the world who wish to help only themselves, there will never be unity and peace.
2. many people consider religion and believing in a god to be "backwardness". the fact that that you are unwilling to accept others' beliefs by calling your god the "one true god", is reason enough why your question will not work. maybe you dont see it that way, but for a religion to denouce all others, and say that it's way is the only way, is both backward and unpeaceful.
so when you say we should try much more to attain world unity, peace, and prosperity, a lot of people wonder if you want everyone to do it how christianity wants it done. if thats the case, then i dont think world unity and peace will ever be attained.

There are different people born each day, and it's impossible to satisfy them all at once. What makes one person happy and successful could make another person poor and bitter.
While I agree with you about the idea of progressing and stopping hate, it's not exactly a universal ideal thing for everyone. It's human nature to be angry at someone. If someone murdered some other person you loved for a selfish reason, how can you be perfectly content?

First of all , who do you call the One true God. God is a term used for any entity that some one wants to worship.
2nd. Yes, we should all get along. But, there is always a but, when I hear leftist muslims on the News announce that they wont give up their terrorism until the whole world is Islam. Thats a problem. No true believer would give up their g(G)od to anyone.
Dont get me wrong, one of my best friend is a muslim.
Well, anyway, My Bible says after armageddon, we will have 1000 years of peace. But you are right. There is to much hate in the world.

First of all, god didn't create the universe--he doesn't exist. Second of all, The respectful human beings aren't the ones causing war, poverty and backwardness. Finally, religion has been responsible for more war, poverty, and backwardness than have respectful human beings. I hope that helps.

The main problem is that, people from different religions dont agree with the faith of a person with a different religion. Ive seen and heard a lot of people bashing one another with words that are painfull to hear because of the difference in religion. If everyone tries to understand or better yet try to cope with each others beliefs then we might gain peace.

no matter how you mask it, the one true god is still another attempt to bring others into your belief structure
I do believe in the potential for all of us to get along, we will never believe on our origin but we can look around and see our similarity and connectedness and need for same air, water, love and cooperation
without the divisiveness of religion

Peace and unity are fine and dandy, as long as we all believe what you want us to believe, right?
What if I said you have to believe there is no God so there can be peace and unity? At what price would you achieve that goal hon?

It's called the "appendix"
Until all humans are born without an appendix, or we all get them removed, there will be no such thing as peace.
