Until your fork goes 1/2 way in easily.
It depends on your microwave wattage and the size of the potato.

Depends on the microwave wattage and the size of the potato. Mine takes about 6 to 8 minutes for a large potato.

Of course you rinse the potato 1st, but try to have it extra wet when you put it in to nuke it-the water makes the skin a little more supple so the radiation can reach the middle of the potato faster. It depends on the wattage of your microwave. If you know that your microwave is low wattage-about 6 minutes. High wattage 3-4 minutes.

Cooking time depends upon the size of the potato. Make sure you stab it several times so the internal steam doesn't explode the potato. You should be done in about five minutes but stick it with a fork and when it penetrates easily it is done.

don't cut it first, wash it and then rub with salt a either some butter or olive oil. Peirce the skin with a fork on both sides. Put on a plate, and into the microwave for 6 minutes. To see if done, push a fork through, if soft, then it is done, if not, cook for 30 second intervals until soft. Then slice in half and top with your favorite toppings and enjoy!

3 minutes for a small one and up to 10 minutes for the mega huge sized ones. Poke holes all over the outside to let out the steam.
