Prescription ZOvirax or Valtrex is the best and quickest way. If not, get Abreva from the drugstore, dab some rubbing alcohol on it then put the abreva on. Do this right when you start feeling the tingle!

I put antibiotic cream on them until they disappear. I've tried all the other fever blister stuff. This works better than anything. When it has healed buy a new toothbrush and throw the old one away.

Brewer's Yeast...5 tablets 3 times a day for 2-5 days, and there's a medication called Herpecin (in the US) that seems to work well.

If we are talking about cold sores on the lips, try using a zinc supplement. I found that works best for me because my body usually lacks zinc, so I take a supplement everyday. Also, I use Carmex on my lips usually once or more times a day. Carmex is great for cold sores.

A supplement called L-Lysine found at Wal-mart, is good for herpes.
