on our family phone this is what happenes?

the phone will ring once and then it just stops. and the people calling always say that it dials once and then theres allitle click and it stops..does anyone know whats going on. help please

we don't have call waiting or three way calling

Not sure I've heard of THIS one! Call the local telephone Co. (your carrier) and tell them your line is in need of repair! Within about 24 hours (or less, in some cases), you'll have a working phone line again!

Have you tried another phone to make sure it isn't your phone? If it's not your actual phone you can take your phone outside to the phone box and open it up. There is a place in there to plug your phone into. It looks just like the one in the house. Plug it in. I guess you'll have to have someone call you. Do you have a cell phone you can call yourself on? If the phone works from the outside box your problem is in the house wiring. If it still doesn't work it's the outside line. You should check because the phone company won't charge you to repair it if it's outside the house, but they'll charge you a lot if it's inside the house.

Either your call waiting, or voice mail could be messed up. Have the phone company fix it.
