Lots of folks will probably say Pumkin Pie. But, how about this. Pumkin Cheese Cake with 1/4 cup Jack Daniels!! This is one kicking desert!! Just make the cheese cake using 1/2 cream cheese and 1/2 Pumkin. Use any basic Cheese Cake recipie except use the Cream cheese and Pumkin as main ingredients. Blend well then add the Jack Daniels.

Pumpkin pie is traditional. Pies in general go with Thanksgiving. Try a pecan pie, apple pie or pudding pie (chocolate pudding poured into a baked pie shell). Mince meat is very good, but not everyone likes it. Try Nonesuch mince meat if you want to try it. The recipe is on the package.

My aunt makes these little pastries called Maid of Honors. They are SOOO good! I could eat them all day! It says to make it with the big cupcake pans, but my aunt uses those very small pastry trays instead. I believe this is the recipe.

1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
4 oz. shortening
1 tbsp. water
6 tsp. raspberry preserves
1 pkg. yellow Jiffy cake mix
6 cherries

Make a pie crust: Sift flour and salt, then cut in shortening, and add just enough cold water to make a soft ball. Then roll the crust out very thin. I use the cover of a one pound Crisco can to make circles. Then line a 12 cupcake pan.
Put 1/2 teaspoon raspberry preserves in the center of each cup.

Mix a package of yellow Jiffy cup cake mix.

Pour cupcake batter into cups, over the raspberry preserves.

Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.

When they have cooled, make a thin butter frosting.

Frost each tart and place 1/2 cherry in the center.

THIN BUTTER FROSTING:

Butter
Confectioners' sugar
Milk
Vanilla

Deep Dish Apple Pie followed by a pecan molasses pie. Especially if the pie is still warm and you put vanilla ice cream on it. Thats the best

Oh gracious! Just one?!?! At my house we have cheesecake, pumpkin pie, apple pie and black forest cake. OH! I almost forgot the lemon meringue pie. Homemade of course. All of it's homemade actually. You know, I say this and we did use to have all of those on Thanksgiving, but we're trying to eat better, so I've been doing a couple of those at Thanksgiving and a couple at Christmas and we have two December birthdays, so we may throw in one of those on a birthday too. (-: Then we get to have them all, just not all at once.

The best dessert is a buffet of desserts.
Pumkin pie (duh)
Brownies with mint
Cheesecake with blueberries
Pecan Pie
Cappuccino Pudding with biscotti
& really good coffee
the best thing about a dessert buffet is they are easy to pack up and give as parting gifts
