go to the gym.

I dont understand, but for obvious reasons I see alot of heavy people at the gym, but no small or skinny people. OF course there are the occasional gym rats, bodybuilders, athletes and fit people but alot of the patrons tend to be the ones with rolls. Got any info for me? Why dont you go to the gym more!?

when answering please give an explanation as to why you feel the way you do. Personal experience of course is WELCOME!!!

I disagree
I used to work right next to a Bally's and during the day is when all the hard bodies went in, it looked like the people do in the commercials for excersize equipment

Maybe at your gym - My ideas? Try to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. Work hard, but don't over 60 minutes at a time. Do planks and other abs exercises on alternate days.

On training days, do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.

The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!

Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.

Read magazines like Shape, Womens Fitness, Fitness, etc to get tips and to stay motivated.

Good luck and stick at it. This plan has lost me 20 lbs in 12 weeks so far, just go for it!

I always go to the gym! Im athletic. When I worked at a gym the only time that I would see heavier people was all at the same time in the morning! Maybe youre going at that time, but you could just be going to the YMCA...hahaha

The people at our club are all shapes, and frankly, I'm sooo glad the bigger people are coming into the club to get fit. We have all kinds of body types. Many thinner people who don't come to the gym are not healthy either. Some are skinnier by heredity, or have a fast metabolism, and aren't healthy usually. Many heavier people are at the club because they see the need. Many of the skinnier people come in as they age, they get smarter and figure it out that they aren't healthy, just thin.

I go to the gym, but to lift weights. The skinny people that arent going to the gym, barely eat, or consuming just enough calories to meet their bodies minimum calorie requirement. Keep in mind everybodies metabolism (which dictates the minimum calorie requirement) is different and will vary according to how active we are.

well im not sure why you havent seen the skinny people but my guess is they starve their selves and bing when others are around so it looks like they eat alot. i personaly am not skinny but far from big... i go to the gym in the mornings and go swimming at before class around noon... reason being is i get a brust of energy right after so in the morning it helps me get a start and at noon helps me stay awake in class. its kind of like a high. then when i go to bed i sleep through the night like a baby cause im wore out.

I always see thin people when I go to the gym....even a couple anorexics who work out. I guess if people feel they already have a great body, they don't need to go work out.

I guess if we dont see rolls, we think we dont need to go and work out. But just cuz a person is thin, doesnt mean they are necessarily in shape.

True in alot of cases.

people with great bodies tend to be very active in everyday life. fat people have to go to the gym because they were inactive so long.

ive always wondered that too! my friend thats soo skinny never works out, its weird how she can look fit when all she does is sit around and eat junk food all day
