You should try searching a travel search engine such as Sidestep.com. If you look there, you can try alternate airports, such as leaving from Burlington instead of Montreal and/or even going to London Gatwick instead of Heathrow. You should be able to find a flight for around $USD 830. Also, try leaving on a Thursday rather than a Friday and/or returning on a weekday instead of a Sunday as a way to lower the price. It's holiday season, so ticket prices are going to be high at that time...

I think that's too much for a single person coming from Montreal to London. I've seen cheaper. I've never gone up to that high when flying -- I've always managed to find the cheapest there is out there (at least from what I could find). I would check locally either in the book or online - Yellow Pages, they do provide websites to check from, you can always make phone calls -- it's the only way to compare, other than on the Internet which is not always 100%, because they can mean they're not correct, or much higher prices then expected depending on the website you visiting.

But if it is of any help to you, try:

http://www.flightcentre.ca/
http://www.RedTag.ca/ (not sure if it would help at all, but I guess give it a show because nothing came up when I searched for you)
http://www.Globespan.com/ (think it's U.K. one, not sure)
http://www.flyzoom.com/ -- could be cheapest, I don't know

For your information, on flyzoom.com, I have selected Dec. 15 and return Jan. 12, the price is like 700.00, if you wish to extend stay or change dates, just thought I'd let you know (bonus if you have free accommodation there, it should help).

You are lucky to find USD900! It is the time you wish to go that is causing your problem. At Christmas, the world and his wife start travelling at or around the 16th December and is returning on the weekend of the 6th and 7th. At this time you are lucky to get a seat at any price. You sometimes find a window of cheap(er) seats on the 24th or 25th December and you have to return well after the 12th Jan. You have left this far, far too late for any cheap fares that may be around. I say "may" because airlines know that they can fill their planes up 10 times over at this time so why on earth should they sell something for USD200 when they know they can get USD 900 (or more)? Book very much earlier for next time - like February.

Hello:

Check out http://www.grab2travel.com
Go to Flights section.

Also try to do SmartSearch, which will give you recommendation and click on individual buttons to perform search to compare rates. I like that place... You dont have to go to individual sites and type the same information again and again.. here once you enter you are done to compare....

I would also try travel agents besides online. Their prices could be a lot cheaper than those online agents. Check with your local ones.

Check the internet! Check all the airlines before you make your decision! The earlyer you order, the cheaper it is!
